Black Friday

So on Black Friday, we were still in Park City. Down there, they have the midnight madness sales in the outlets. I am never doing that again. There were like thousands of people, and the lines wound from the front of the store to the back. Now I now why it is called Midnight Madness. It really is madness. People were crowded around the racks of clothes and we could barely squeeze in to grab something. We went to the Baby Gap and found that the lines weren't bad, and it wasn't that crowded. So we went in and found some absolutely adorable clothes for Tori for Christmas. We also went to OshKosh and found some cute stuff there. The line was pretty long, but it was totally worth the cute stuff we got for Tori. We got back to the condo at around 2:30 a.m. and went to bed. That day, around 9 or 10, we went back to the outlets, with my dad this time. We spent forever in Hartstrings and Gymboree (baby clothes stores) and got a "few" more things. When we were finally able to pull my mother out of there, we headed back home. But my mom wanted to look at a table she found on the internet and loved, so we stopped in Salt Lake. To her joyous surprise, they had it there, and for a very good price. So my dad and some workers loaded it into the back of the truck and we finally went home. While my dad was at home setting it up, my mom and I went to Twilight. Yes, again. When we got home the table was set up, and I love it! It is so big and pretty! So that was our crazy Black Friday.

Thanksgiving

For Turkey Day this year, we weren't sure what we were going to do. Plan one was, we decided to just have a small celebration with me, Casey, and my parents. But when that idea started to sound boring, Plan 2 came about. My mom made reservations at Hamilton's for a big Thanksgiving buffet. For all of you that know my dad really well, he didn't like that idea. At all. He said that we should go to Angie's, where they serve free Thanksgiving dinners to the homeless. He swore that he had done that before. Ya right. Plan 3 was: Lois had invited us to go to Park City that weekend with her family to eat, go to a movie, and shop. My mom and I really liked that idea, so all of us went to Park City, to stay in a condo with her family. It was really fun! We got there, and watched TV and played Scattergories. Then we went to the other condo and had a big dinner. It was delicious! Oh and I almost forgot. When we got there, the Rocky movies were playing. Holy crap, they were weird. But at least they kept the guys entertained. They watched those movies all day. The girls and Shane went to 4 Christmases, and well, it wasn't that great. It had a really good story line, and the actors were good, and there were really funny parts. But like ever movie now a-days, it had some really dirty and bad parts. Lois and my mom were all for leaving the theater. But we stayed, and I ended up really liking the ending. Thanksgiving was great.

The Oakeson's will be thankful......

So 1 puppy down, 5 to go! Rose, Madi, Emma, and Cody Oakeson came over to look at the puppy they are going to keep. They just fell in love with little Bella! (well, now it is Daisy) They thought she is the cutest little thing and are so excited to have a puppy of their own. I think Rose is as excited as the kids! Those kids are adorable. They ran around with the puppies, playing with them, and giggling the whole time. Bella/Daisy is the sweetest puppy, she is so mellow! While all the other puppies are running around being brats, Bella/Daisy will just lay there, or cuddling up in someones arms. She also has a unique trait, if you can call it that. She is missing one toe on her back paw. It doesn't slow her down though! While it will be sad for us, or me at least, to get rid of her, the Oakeson's will have one more thing to be thankful for on Thanksgiving, a sweet, fun, adorable little puppy. What a fun thing to have on Thanksgiving!

Twilight!!!!! (no spoilers)

Ok, so the highlight of this month for me, was going to the Twilight movie. Oh my gosh, I thought it was amazing! At 9:00 p.m on November 20th, my mom, Melissa and I all went to the theater for the first midnight showing of Twilight. We had to wait for 3 hours for the movie to start. We got there around 9, and they just let us right into the theater. We got excellent seats, too! Before the movie started, there were girls counting down the hours. When it got closer, they were yelling really loud and counting down seconds. It was insane. There were girls doing cartwheels, and debating whether Team Edward or Team Jacob is the way to go. I am personally an Edward girl. I had my mom's video iPod and so I watched some Office episodes to pass the time, but I was so excited, I couldn't concentrate. When they turned off the lights, pretty much all of the teenage girls started screaming. I am proud to admit, I wasn't one of them. I was so glad when the obnoxious girls finally shut up since the movie was starting. I was really happy with the way it turned out. But I personally think you have to read the book to see the movie. It will just help you understand the characters more. Also, I like the book more, but I have yet to see a movie I like better than the book it was based off of. So I give Twilight 2 thumbs up and 5 stars! In my opinion, it is a must see!

Aug-Nov.......Finally!

Aug-Nov.......Finally!
Ok, I know I am never going to get around to finishing up the past months events, so here is a very brief summary of August-October. In August, Melissa and Justin got hitched in the Logan Temple and had a very beautiful reception at Birch Creek Golf Course. It was great! Then, Justin and Jessica packed up and moved away to Minneapolis. My mom and dad moved them out there and took a vacation while they were there. I started the 8th grade at North Trash, woops I mean North Cache. I honestly don't like a lot about it. September. Boring. The one and only exciting thing that happened, was Victoria Rose Atkinson came into this world. She is Shawn and Krystal's first baby, and my parents first grandchild. My mom absolutely glows with pride when she shows people the pictures. And Victoria Rose is such a gorgeous name for such a gorgeous little baby! I can't wait to see her! In October, Dakota (the center of the family, and favorite "child" had 8 little Golden Retriever puppies. They are so adorable. I will post a lot of pictures of them. We have one picked out that we want to keep, and she is a little cutie. Casey and I want to call her "Maeby" like on Arrested Development. My mom is all for the name Bella from Twilight, but we want Maeby. We had the 12th annual Halloween Cookie decorating party that month. It was so fun and my mom did a great job planning it. On Halloween, my boring, fun-killing parents didn't let me go Trick-or-Treating, because I am "too old". So I had a couple of my friends come over, and we watched "The Eye" and "Prom Night". The Eye wasn't very scary, but I couldn't sleep after Prom Night. Watching a bunch of people getting stabbed to death by a serial killer escaped from an asylum is not a movie that brings happy dreams. The next day my parents left Casey and I home to fend for ourselves, and they went to see Shawn, Krystal, and Tori. I bet it was very fun, but since I didn't go, I wouldn't know. :) I really wish I could've gone. But anyway....That is about all!

May-July 08

Its about time I write something. I have been procrastinating(I know, Me? Procrastinate? no..) But anyway...May...hum. Nothing of great consequence happened. Melissa had a very fun bridal shower,(see picture) then after, the family went to the ranch in Malad for some squirrel slaughtering and 4 wheeler riding. A few weeks later, Summer was finally here! In June, Justin celebrated his 26th birthday. We just hung out outside, talking and enjoying a nice summer evening. On the 24th, my mom and I went to Bear Lake for "girls camp", if you can even call it that anymore. We stayed in a gorgeous cabin overlooking the lake, with a big living room, kitchen, TV's, and 3 bathrooms. We didn't hike, we went swimming at the lake and did hair. We didn't make fires, we made cute journals from the cool, mosquito free air of the inside of the cabin. We all got showers everyday, and when we got out, we would blow dry and straighten our hair. I don't think it should be called Girls Camp anymore. Not saying I didn't like it,on the contrary, I thought it was amazing! The day after we got home, it was my 13th birthday. I just spent the day with the fam, which I thought was more fun than a friend party! The next week was July. So of course, the highlight for our family, is not the birthday of our country, but the Cache Valley Cruise-In. It is so fun to sit in front of Wendy's, eating ice cream and watching awesome cars go by. On the 17th, was the premier of the Dark Knight. My friends Sara and Emily and I went to the midnight movie. It was way fun and I didn't fall asleep till about 6 a.m, thanks to the Mountain Dew. It was a fun month.

Little bit about us and Feb-April '08

Well, of course, we are the Atkinsons. The old ones, I might add. With Shawn, Krystal, and Victoria in Maryland, Justin and Jessica in Minneapolis and Melissa recently married to Justin, it is just me (Brittany) Casey, and my mom and dad at home. Well, since Casey is at school and work until late every day, it is basically my parents and me at home. He does manage to make a mess though. So this last year...where to begin. Well the most exciting thing that happened in the first few months, was Casey coming home from his mission in Poland. The whole family was there waiting at the airport, and we all came home that night and went to Taco Bell. And no, I am not kidding. That night, we also found out that Krystal was pregnant. We were all very excited for or first niece or nephew. About a week and a half later, the excitement died down when our cat literally died. Plus, that same day, Shawn left, and Krystal had already gone back to Texarkana. What a way to start a new month. In April, Justin Corbridge came over while Melissa was at work, and sat in the "hot seat" to ask my parents for Melissa's hand in marriage. I don't think he knew what he was getting in to. My dad, being the loving father he is, made it clear to him that it is a "no return policy." A week later, while me, Casey, the Balls and Hyer families(close family friends) were enjoying ourselves on Spring Break in St. George and Mesquite, Justin proposed to Melissa. They set the date, and Melissa and my mom started planning the wedding immediately, with my dad grumbling little phrases like "I could have bought 300 four for five burritos at Taco Time for that much money" and "why can't you just do the reception in the backyard, hand the guests a cream puff, and dance on the table for some money?" and so forth, they kept planning.

I am not good at this...

So I just deleted our blog. I was trying to change the stupid layout-template thing, and everything just got messed up. I have been on the computer for HOURS trying to change the stupid thing back to the original one. But I had no luck at all. It just kept getting more and , more messed up. After hours and tears and all sorts of different help sites and changes, it was even worse! So I finally gave up and saved my old posts and then deleted the dang thing. So I will get those 3 posts on here, since they aren't very old. I will keep blogging, and next time I decide it needs a change, I will get Krystal or Jessica to help.
